Integrating Web Design with Practical Insights: Understanding Deer Baiting Laws in PA

September 10, 2020 by muzamilpervaiz

Parallax Pro provides several outstanding design features that will help you to ensure that your content is ultimately far more engaging as well as memorable to the user. Seeing your legal information presented in a thoughtful manner is one thing, but when it comes across as conversational and user friendly, it allows you to create that ideal bridge between the helpful nature of your insights and the actual functionality of them.

In this case, we are looking to integrate information that would be helpful to a reader searching for guidelines on deer baiting with the valuable design features that Parallax Pro makes available.

While of course it would be extremely poor form to literally bait a deer with this information – since the deer might be more likely to go out hunting a bag of chips for nourishment than to encounter any human – we do find that in the information related to the legal aspects of deer hunting in Pennsylvania and the legality of deer baiting is strongly dependent upon the season in which you’re out hunting.

The legality in regards to deer baiting in Pennsylvania

By way of clarification, we’ll let the game commission of Pennsylvania explain:

“Unlawful acts Except as otherwise provided in this section, it is unlawful for a person to hunt, take or kill a deer while the deer is in the act of consuming bait on which the person has placed or scattered vitamins, minerals or animal parts for the purpose of attracting deer. This prohibition does not apply to documented millsitas with the landowners express consent. This prohibition applies to the area within 10 yards vertically and horizontally from the bait.”

Importantly, there are exceptions to this rule, which are as follows:

“(1) Bait may be put out 30 days prior to the first day of deer season and may remain in place during the entire deer season. (2) Bait may be put out at any time and may remain in place if the person is legally present on the property with the express right and permission of the landowner to be engaged in an agricultural or legal activity other than hunting, and the bait is either consumed by livestock or legally used for an activity other than hunting deer, such as photography, deer watching, maintenance of a hunting blind or other structure, or education.”

Doesn’t this just make you want to go hunting for some deer? Or at the least, contemplate the concept of whether it is permissible to bait deer?
